Responsibilities
- Oversee the end-to-end processing of pension claims, retirement applications, and benefit disbursements with high accuracy.
- Conduct rigorous data audits and reconciliation of pension fund records to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Provide exceptional customer service and technical support to retirees via phone, secure email, and in-person during night hours.
- Ensure strict adherence to ERISA guidelines and Texas state pension laws.
- Collaborate with the payroll and finance departments to resolve complex discrepancies in benefit calculations.
- Maintain the highest level of data integrity and confidentiality regarding sensitive personnel and financial records.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or a related field (preferred).
- 3+ years of experience in pension administration, benefits management, or state government operations.
- Strong working knowledge of retirement plan structures, 401(k)/Pension plan administration, and compliance standards.
- Proven ability to work efficiently and accurately in a 24/7 operational environment, including night shift availability.
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with pension administration software (e.g., Ceridian, Workday).
