Responsibilities
- Conduct field inspections and surveys for transportation infrastructure projects including roads, bridges, and traffic signals
- Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and cost estimates using CAD software
- Analyze traffic data and recommend improvements for intersection safety and flow optimization
- Coordinate with contractors, municipal agencies, and stakeholders during project implementation
- Review and approve engineering plans to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations
- Document project progress and prepare technical reports for district leadership
- Assist in emergency response activities during weather-related transportation incidents
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Civil Engineering Technology or related field (Bachelor's preferred)
- Minimum 2 years of experience in transportation engineering or construction inspection
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and transportation modeling software
- Pennsylvania EIT certification or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Valid Pennsylvania driver's license with clean driving record
- Strong knowledge of MUTCD standards and PennDOT design specifications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical documentation
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and travel throughout Philadelphia County
