Responsibilities
- Conduct field inspections and data collection for highway construction and maintenance projects
- Prepare technical drawings, specifications, and cost estimates using CAD software
- Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and local government officials
- Analyze traffic flow patterns and recommend infrastructure improvements
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local transportation regulations
- Support public outreach initiatives for major transportation projects
- Maintain accurate project documentation and progress reports
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Civil Engineering Technology or related field
- Minimum 2 years of transportation engineering or construction experience
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and transportation modeling software
- Valid Minnesota driver's license with clean driving record
- Knowledge of MnDOT standards and federal transportation regulations
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
