Responsibilities
- Assist in designing and reviewing transportation plans, specifications, and cost estimates for highway and bridge projects
- Conduct field inspections and documentation of construction sites to ensure compliance with state standards
- Prepare technical reports, project schedules, and progress updates using engineering software
- Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and local agencies on project execution and modifications
- Support environmental compliance documentation and permitting processes
- Analyze traffic data and recommend improvements for safety and efficiency
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Technology, or related field
- Minimum 1 year of experience in transportation engineering or construction inspection
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and transportation modeling software
- Valid California Driver's License with clean driving record
- Knowledge of Caltrans standards, MUTCD, and federal transportation regulations
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and precision
- Ability to work independently in field environments and manage multiple deadlines
