Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive transportation plans and capital improvement programs for Southeast Michigan
- Analyze traffic patterns, transit data, and demographic trends to inform infrastructure decisions
- Prepare environmental impact statements and compliance reports under federal/state regulations
- Coordinate with regional planning agencies and community organizations on public engagement initiatives
- Manage project budgets and timelines using GIS mapping and transportation modeling software
- Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership and legislative committees
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning, Civil Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 3+ years of experience in transportation planning or public infrastructure projects
- Proficiency in GIS software (ArcGIS) and transportation modeling tools (TransCAD, Cube)
- Knowledge of federal/state transportation regulations (FHWA, MDOT policies)
- Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret complex data sets
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with public speaking experience
- Valid Michigan driver's license
