As a key member of our District 2 team, you'll collaborate with engineers, urban planners, and local government officials to develop data-driven strategies for improving traffic flow, public transit accessibility, and pedestrian safety across Duval County and surrounding regions.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive transportation plans for urban and rural areas using GIS mapping and traffic modeling software
- Analyze transportation data to identify congestion points and propose infrastructure improvement solutions
- Prepare environmental impact assessments and regulatory compliance documentation for state and federal projects
- Coordinate with local municipalities to align transportation initiatives with regional growth plans
- Manage project budgets and timelines for multimodal transportation initiatives
- Present technical findings to stakeholders including elected officials and community groups
- Stay current with federal/state transportation policies and funding opportunities
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning, Civil Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 3 years of experience in transportation planning or public infrastructure projects
- Proficiency in GIS software (ArcGIS) and traffic analysis tools (TransCAD, Synchro)
- Strong understanding of FDOT standards and federal transportation regulations
- Valid Florida Driver's License
- Experience with NEPA documentation and environmental compliance
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to present complex technical information
- Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and manage competing priorities
