What You'll Do:
- Oversee complex transportation planning initiatives including transit, pedestrian, and bike infrastructure
- Develop data-driven solutions to address urban mobility challenges
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and community stakeholders
- Manage project budgets and ensure compliance with federal/state regulations
- Drive innovative strategies for equitable transportation access
Responsibilities
- Lead strategic planning for multimodal transportation systems
- Analyze traffic patterns and recommend infrastructure improvements
- Manage capital project planning and implementation
- Prepare grant applications and federal compliance documents
- Supervise planning staff and interns
- Present findings to city council and public forums
- Develop long-term transportation master plans
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Urban Planning, Civil Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years progressive transportation planning experience
- Strong proficiency in GIS software (ArcGIS, QGIS)
- Experience managing capital projects over $1M
- Knowledge of federal transportation regulations (FTA, FHWA)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Valid Washington State driver's license
