Responsibilities
- Lead complex transportation corridor planning studies using GIS modeling and traffic simulation tools
- Develop comprehensive environmental impact statements (EIS) for major infrastructure projects
- Coordinate with federal, county, and city agencies on transit-oriented development initiatives
- Analyze multimodal transportation data to identify congestion hotspots and improvement opportunities
- Manage project budgets and timelines for capital improvement programs
- Mentor junior planners and conduct stakeholder outreach with community groups
- Prepare grant applications for federal funding opportunities (FTA, FHWA)
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Urban Planning, Civil Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in transportation planning with public sector background
- Professional certification (AICP, PTOE) strongly preferred
- Expertise in traffic modeling software (VISSIM, TransCAD)
- Proven success managing NEPA compliance documentation
- Strong quantitative skills with statistical analysis experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Washington State driver's license required
