Responsibilities
- Screen passengers, carry-on baggage, and cargo using X-ray machines and manual inspection techniques
- Conduct pat-down searches and identify potential threats using advanced detection technology
- Monitor security checkpoints and enforce federal transportation security regulations
- Communicate professionally with diverse travelers while maintaining a calm demeanor
- Document security incidents and maintain detailed operational reports
- Collaborate with law enforcement and emergency response teams during security events
- Operate and troubleshoot complex security equipment in high-pressure situations
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship or national status
- Ability to pass a thorough background investigation and drug screening
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED accepted)
- Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Proficient in English communication (reading, writing, speaking)
- Must complete TSA-mandated training program and obtain certification
