Responsibilities
- Screen passengers, baggage, and cargo for prohibited items using advanced X-ray and detection equipment
- Conduct thorough physical pat-downs and baggage inspections following TSA protocols
- Operate airport checkpoint equipment and communicate effectively with travelers and colleagues
- Respond to security incidents and emergencies with calm professionalism
- Maintain detailed logs of security activities and report suspicious behavior
- Collaborate with law enforcement and other security personnel during joint operations
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a government security clearance
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED required)
- Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Pass background check and drug screening
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn TSA systems
- Strong communication skills and ability to remain calm under pressure
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 70 pounds
