Responsibilities
- Conduct daily inspections of highways, bridges, and traffic signals to identify safety hazards and maintenance needs
- Implement traffic control plans during construction and emergency response activities
- Collect and analyze traffic data using specialized equipment to optimize flow patterns
- Prepare detailed reports on infrastructure conditions and recommend repair solutions
- Operate and maintain field equipment including surveying tools and traffic counters
- Collaborate with engineering teams to implement transportation improvement projects
- Ensure strict compliance with federal MUTCD and TxDOT safety standards
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree in civil engineering technology preferred
- Valid Texas Class C driver's license with clean driving record
- Minimum 2 years experience in transportation construction or maintenance
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification or ability to obtain within 90 days
- Proficiency with traffic data collection software and GIS mapping tools
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in outdoor environments across weather conditions
- Strong written communication skills for technical reporting
