Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive screening of passengers, carry-on baggage, and cargo using X-ray machines, walk-through metal detectors, and advanced imaging technology.
- Operate screening equipment and perform physical bag inspections to detect prohibited items, weapons, or dangerous materials.
- Perform physical pat-downs and body searches in a professional and respectful manner while adhering to TSA security protocols.
- Interact courteously and effectively with the public, maintaining a high standard of customer service while enforcing security regulations.
- Monitor screening equipment for anomalies and report any suspicious activities or security breaches immediately to supervisors or law enforcement.
- Adhere to all TSA directives, agency policies, and safety procedures to maintain a secure environment.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient checkpoint operations and passenger flow during peak travel times.
Qualifications
- Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen or national.
- Background Check: Ability to pass a background investigation, including fingerprinting and drug screening.
- Education: High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) required.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 40 lbs for extended periods; must meet medical standards for federal employment.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
