Responsibilities
- Screen passengers, carry-on baggage, and cargo against threat-based standards.
- Operate X-ray screening equipment and metal detectors to detect prohibited items.
- Perform physical searches (pat-downs) of passengers and property when automated screening indicates a potential threat.
- Maintain a high standard of customer service while enforcing security regulations and protocols.
- Document all screening activities and report security anomalies immediately to supervisors.
- Assist in emergency response procedures and evacuation operations as needed.
- Collaborate with a diverse team to maintain a secure and efficient airport environment.
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship or legal authorization to work in the United States.
- Pass a thorough background investigation, including criminal history and fingerprinting.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly.
- Excellent vision (corrected if necessary) and keen attention to detail.
- Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
