Responsibilities
- Screen passengers and carry-on luggage for prohibited items using X-ray scanners and manual search techniques
- Operate advanced security equipment including walk-through metal detectors and explosive detection systems
- Conduct thorough pat-down searches and baggage inspections following TSA protocols
- Maintain accurate documentation of security incidents and screening activities
- Provide exceptional customer service while enforcing security regulations
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel during security incidents
- Stay updated on TSA policies, procedures, and threat intelligence
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship or U.S. national status
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to pass a thorough background investigation and drug screening
- Proficient in English (reading, writing, speaking)
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 70 pounds
- Valid U.S. driver's license and reliable transportation
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Successfully complete TSA's Security Training Academy
