Responsibilities
- Operate X-ray machines, metal detectors, and explosive detection systems to screen passengers and carry-on baggage
- Conduct physical pat-down searches and baggage inspections as required by security protocols
- Verify travel documents and boarding passes for compliance with TSA regulations
- Monitor security checkpoints and report suspicious activities or items to supervisors
- Maintain accurate records of security incidents and screening activities
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel during security breaches
- Participate in ongoing training to stay current on security procedures and technology
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required
- Ability to pass a background investigation and drug screening
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid state driver's license
- Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Proficient in operating screening equipment and computer systems
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Strong communication skills and ability to de-escalate tense situations
