Responsibilities
- Passenger Screening: Operate X-ray and CT screening equipment to detect prohibited items in carry-on baggage and on passengers.
- Security Enforcement: Enforce security regulations and procedures to ensure the safety of the aviation system.
- Prohibited Item Identification: Identify and resolve potential security threats, including weapons and explosives.
- Traveler Assistance: Assist passengers with disabilities or special circumstances to ensure a smooth screening process.
- Documentation: Review travel documents and boarding passes to verify identity and authorization.
Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship: Must be a U.S. citizen or national.
- Education: High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED).
- Criminal History: No felony convictions and no history of drug abuse (subject to background check).
- Medical Fitness: Ability to pass a medical examination and meet specific physical requirements.
- Communication: Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
