Responsibilities
- Screen passengers, carry-on baggage, and cargo at security checkpoints to prevent prohibited items from entering secure areas.
- Operate X-ray machines and advanced imaging technology to detect threats and identify items that may pose a risk.
- Enforce security regulations, laws, and procedures in a firm, fair, and impartial manner at all times.
- Identify dangerous items and take immediate, appropriate action to resolve security threats.
- Assist travelers with questions regarding security procedures, documentation, and prohibited items.
- Complete all required documentation, reports, and logs accurately and on time.
- Perform bag checks and pat-downs in accordance with TSA screening standards.
Qualifications
- United States Citizenship is required.
- Ability to pass a federal background investigation, drug screen, and medical exam.
- High School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED) certificate.
- Must be able to pass the TSA fitness test (walking and lifting requirements).
- Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
- No felony convictions within the last 7 years.
