Responsibilities
- Screen passengers, carry-on baggage, and cargo for explosives and other prohibited items using X-ray machines and walk-through metal detectors.
- Operate advanced imaging technology (AIT) and body scanners while adhering to privacy standards.
- Perform physical searches, pat-downs, and bag inspections when necessary to detect threats.
- Enforce security regulations and procedures strictly in accordance with federal law.
- Provide exceptional customer service to travelers, answering questions and assisting those with special needs.
- Assist in the operation of checkpoint lanes to ensure efficient and timely processing of passengers.
- Report any suspicious activity or security breaches immediately to supervisors.
Qualifications
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident (Green Card holder).
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background investigation, including fingerprint-based criminal history records check.
- Excellent vision (corrected if necessary) and the ability to distinguish between colors.
- Ability to perform moderate to heavy physical labor, including standing for long periods and lifting bags weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
- Must be willing to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Valid driver's license is preferred.
