Responsibilities
- Screen passengers and carry-on baggage using X-ray machines, metal detectors, and manual search techniques
- Operate advanced security technology including computed tomography scanners and explosive detection systems
- Conduct pat-down searches and baggage inspections to identify prohibited items
- Provide exceptional customer service to travelers while enforcing security regulations
- Document security incidents and suspicious activities according to TSA protocols
- Maintain checkpoint efficiency and flow during high-traffic periods
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel during security alerts
- Participate in continuous training on updated security procedures and technologies
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required
- Minimum 18 years of age
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background investigation and drug screening
- Must meet TSA's medical and physical fitness standards (ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs)
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail
- Effective communication skills in English
