Responsibilities
- Operate X-ray screening equipment and walk-through metal detectors to detect prohibited items.
- Conduct thorough screening of passengers, carry-on baggage, and checked luggage.
- Interact professionally and courteously with travelers to resolve security concerns and explain procedures.
- Enforce security regulations and procedures in strict accordance with federal laws.
- Assist in emergency response procedures and coordinate with law enforcement agencies when necessary.
- Maintain a clean and organized screening checkpoint area.
Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Ability to pass a federal background investigation, including fingerprinting and drug screening.
- Ability to pass a medical examination and vision and hearing tests.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
