Job Overview
As a TSA Security Screener, you will be the guardian of our nation's transportation system. You will ensure the safety of passengers and crew by inspecting passengers, carry-on baggage, and cargo in a professional and courteous manner.
Responsibilities
- Conduct screening of passengers, baggage, and cargo using X-ray equipment and physical inspection methods.
- Identify and deter threats to transportation security, including weapons and explosive devices.
- Communicate effectively with passengers to explain screening procedures and resolve issues calmly.
- Adhere to strict security protocols and TSA regulations at all times.
- Maintain a professional demeanor and appearance while standing for extended periods.
- Report any suspicious behavior or security breaches immediately to supervisors.
- Perform bag searches, pat-downs, and monitor screening lanes efficiently.
Qualifications
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or National, or Lawful Permanent Resident (Green Card holder).
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
- Correctable vision to 20/20 (with or without glasses).
- Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to stand, walk, and remain alert for extended shifts.
