Responsibilities
- Screen Passengers & Baggage: Operate X-ray machines and explosives trace detection equipment to identify prohibited items in carry-on and checked baggage.
- Physical Screening: Perform physical pat-downs and searches to ensure passenger safety and compliance with security protocols.
- Document Verification: Verify travel documents and passenger identity to prevent unauthorized access to secure areas.
- Customer Service: Assist passengers with questions regarding screening procedures and resolve issues calmly and professionally.
- Equipment Maintenance: Monitor equipment performance and report any malfunctions or safety concerns immediately.
- Security Protocols: Adhere strictly to all TSA directives, laws, and regulations regarding aviation security.
Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident (Green Card holder).
- Age Requirement: Must be at least 18 years old.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Background Check: Must pass a federal background investigation, including fingerprinting, and drug screening.
- Medical Standards: Must meet specific medical requirements (e.g., vision, hearing, physical ability to perform screening duties).
