Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough screening of passengers and carry-on baggage using advanced imaging technology and X-ray equipment.
- Perform physical pat-downs, bag searches, and wanding procedures in strict accordance with security protocols and federal regulations.
- Interact professionally with the public to resolve security concerns, explain screening procedures, and assist passengers with disabilities.
- Identify potential threats, prohibited items, and anomalies to maintain a secure and safe airport environment.
- Maintain high standards of physical fitness and readiness to respond effectively to emergency situations.
- Adhere to all TSA directives, agency policies, and procedural guidelines at all times.
- Document screening results and report irregularities immediately to supervisory personnel.
Qualifications
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
- Must be able to pass a federal background check and drug screen.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs (22.7 kg) unassisted.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts, holidays, weekends, and nights.
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Willingness to undergo additional training and certification.
