Responsibilities
- Screen passengers, their carry-on baggage, and personal items using advanced imaging technology and X-ray equipment.
- Conduct thorough pat-downs and searches of individuals and property to detect prohibited items and potential threats.
- Enforce security regulations, policies, and procedures consistently and fairly.
- Utilize screening equipment, such as walk-through metal detectors and X-ray machines, to identify weapons, explosives, and other hazardous materials.
- Document screening results accurately and maintain a secure checkpoint environment.
- Provide exceptional customer service to travelers while maintaining a professional demeanor during high-stress situations.
Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship or Lawful Permanent Resident status is required.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Ability to pass a federal background investigation, including a fingerprint-based criminal history records check.
- Ability to pass a medical examination and drug screening.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and maneuver through narrow spaces.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Transportation Security Clearance (TSC).
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
