Job Overview
You will be responsible for screening passengers, baggage, and cargo to detect threats and prohibited items. This is a fast-paced, high-impact role that requires attention to detail and a commitment to public service.
Responsibilities
- Screen passengers, carry-on luggage, and cargo using advanced imaging technology and X-ray equipment.
- Identify and intercept prohibited items, weapons, and dangerous materials.
- Interact professionally and courteously with passengers, explaining screening procedures and policies.
- Operate and monitor security equipment, ensuring it is functioning correctly and following all safety protocols.
- Adhere to all TSA regulations, policies, and procedures to maintain high security standards.
- Perform bag checks and pat-downs when necessary to ensure compliance.
Qualifications
- Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Education: High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) certificate.
- Background Check: Must pass a background check and drug screening; certain criminal convictions may disqualify applicants.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy bags (up to 50 lbs), and perform repetitive motions.
- Communication: Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
