Responsibilities
- Screening Operations: Operate X-ray screening equipment and walk-through metal detectors to detect prohibited items in carry-on baggage and on passengers.
- Passenger Interaction: Professionally interact with travelers, issue alerts for prohibited items, and provide exceptional customer service.
- Security Enforcement: Enforce TSA security regulations, security directives, and notices to airmen (NOTAMs) to ensure compliance.
- Patrol & Inspection: Conduct patrols of the secure area and inspect vehicles entering restricted zones.
- Documentation: Complete necessary documentation accurately, including identifying individuals on the No-Fly List or Selectee List.
- Emergency Response: Respond effectively to security breaches, threats, or emergencies in accordance with established protocols.
Qualifications
- Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship or Lawful Permanent Resident status is required.
- Education: High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) is required.
- Background Check: Must successfully pass a background investigation, including a criminal history check, credit check, and drug screen.
- Physical Ability: Ability to pass a medical exam and demonstrate the physical ability to perform the essential functions of the job, including standing for extended periods and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Availability: Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
