Responsibilities
- Screen passengers and baggage using X-ray machines, metal detectors, and advanced imaging technology
- Conduct thorough physical searches of individuals and property as required by security protocols
- Operate and maintain TSA-provided screening equipment including EDS systems and trace detection devices
- Communicate security procedures clearly to travelers while maintaining professional demeanor
- Document security incidents and suspicious activities through TSA reporting systems
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel during security escalations
- Enforce TSA regulations with cultural sensitivity and conflict resolution skills
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship (required)
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Pass extensive background check and drug screening
- Obtain and maintain TSA Transportation Security Clearance
- Ability to work in high-pressure environments with frequent standing/walking
- Basic computer literacy and ability to learn technical systems quickly
- Strong communication skills in English (bilingual Spanish a plus)
- Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
