Responsibilities
- Perform rigorous screening of passengers, carry-on baggage, and cargo using state-of-the-art X-ray technology and detection equipment.
- Conduct physical pat-downs and searches in accordance with TSA regulations to identify prohibited items and potential threats.
- Maintain a professional demeanor while interacting with the public, de-escalating situations, and providing exceptional customer service to travelers.
- Monitor screening equipment performance and report malfunctions or security anomalies immediately to supervisors.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, security directives, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) at all times.
- Assist in the processing of travelers, including verifying travel documents and assisting passengers with special needs.
Qualifications
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national.
- Must successfully complete a background investigation, including a fingerprint-based criminal history records check.
- Must be willing and able to pass a medical examination and a drug screening test.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted.
- Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods (typically 8-10 hours) in a fast-paced environment.
- Must possess the ability to read, understand, and follow written and oral instructions in English.
