Responsibilities
- Operate X-ray scanners and metal detectors to screen passengers and carry-on luggage
- Conduct thorough pat-down searches and baggage inspections as required
- Monitor security checkpoints and identify potential threats using advanced technology
- Enforce TSA regulations with professionalism and cultural sensitivity
- Document security incidents and maintain accurate screening records
- Collaborate with law enforcement during emergency situations
- Provide clear instructions to travelers during screening processes
Qualifications
- US citizenship or legal resident status
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Pass background investigation and drug screening
- Ability to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Strong attention to detail and observational skills
- Basic computer proficiency for documentation systems
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Must pass TSA's Security Screening Assessment (SSA)
