Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs of municipal facilities, parks, and sidewalks
- Operate heavy machinery including excavators, dump trucks, and street sweepers
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and city safety protocols
- Respond to emergency public works incidents (e.g., storm damage, utility issues)
- Conduct daily equipment inspections and report maintenance needs
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on infrastructure projects
- Document work activities and maintain accurate records
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required
- Valid Florida Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Minimum 2 years of experience in public works or construction
- OSHA 10-hour certification (or willingness to obtain within 30 days)
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of blueprints and technical schematics
- Pass background check and drug screening
- Must be a U.S. citizen or legal resident with work authorization
