Responsibilities
- Conduct on-site inspections of public works projects (roads, bridges, utilities) to ensure compliance with city codes and safety standards
- Review construction plans and contractor submissions for technical accuracy and regulatory alignment
- Document inspection findings and maintain detailed project records using GIS systems
- Collaborate with engineering teams to resolve compliance issues and recommend corrective actions
- Prepare comprehensive inspection reports and communicate findings to stakeholders
- Enforce municipal regulations during construction phases and issue violation notices when necessary
Qualifications
- Minnesota State Inspector Certification or ability to obtain within 90 days
- 3+ years of construction inspection experience in civil engineering/public works
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, GIS mapping, and inspection reporting software
- Knowledge of Minnesota State Building Codes and OSHA safety regulations
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work in outdoor environments with variable weather conditions
