Responsibilities
- Inspect construction sites for compliance with city codes and safety regulations
- Review engineering plans and permit applications for accuracy
- Document project progress through detailed reports and photographic evidence
- Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and city departments
- Investigate public infrastructure complaints and recommend solutions
- Prepare violation notices and ensure corrective actions
- Testify in legal proceedings regarding code violations
Qualifications
- 5+ years of construction inspection experience in government/public sector
- Valid California Inspector Certification (CIT/ICC)
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety certification
- Proficiency with CAD software and inspection reporting tools
- Strong knowledge of California Building Codes and ADA standards
- Ability to interpret complex engineering blueprints
- Valid California driver's license with clean record
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field preferred
