In this role, you will manage the administration and analysis of federal pension plans, ensuring compliance with strict regulations while delivering exceptional service to retirees.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive eligibility reviews for federal retirees under the Civil Service Retirement System (CSRS) and Federal Employees Retirement System (FERS).
- Calculate accurate pension projections, annuity amounts, and survivor benefits using specialized software.
- Ensure strict adherence to IRS, ERISA, and OPM regulations regarding pension distribution and vesting schedules.
- Communicate complex pension information clearly and empathetically to clients via phone, email, and video conferencing.
- Collaborate with the compliance team to audit pension records and mitigate financial risks.
- Prepare detailed reports for federal oversight agencies and internal management reviews.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in federal pension administration or retirement plan management.
- Deep understanding of the Thrift Savings Plan (TSP), CSRS, and FERS regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel for complex formulas is essential) and pension administration software.
- Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment while meeting tight deadlines.
