Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on public facilities and infrastructure
- Operate heavy machinery and specialized municipal equipment safely
- Respond to emergency service calls during severe weather events
- Conduct inspections of public works sites to ensure compliance with safety standards
- Collaborate with cross-departmental teams on city improvement projects
- Document work activities and maintain accurate service records
- Provide exceptional customer service to community residents
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid New York State Driver's License with clean record
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Experience operating heavy machinery (excavators, bulldozers, etc.)
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in all weather conditions
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Pass background check and drug screening
- Must be a US citizen or authorized to work in the US
