Responsibilities
- Conduct routine inspections of food establishments, childcare facilities, and public swimming pools
- Investigate public health complaints and disease outbreaks
- Enforce local and state health regulations with authority to issue citations

- Maintain detailed inspection records and digital databases

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health, Public Health, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of regulatory inspection experience
- Illinois Department of Public Health Inspector certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
- Valid Illinois driver's license with clean record
- Strong knowledge of FDA Food Code and Illinois Sanitation Code
- Exceptional communication skills for diverse community interactions
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights/weekends for emergency responses
- Proficiency in inspection software (e.g., HDX, iComply)
