Responsibilities
- Develop and implement emergency response protocols for natural disasters and public health crises
- Coordinate multi-agency disaster drills and tabletop exercises quarterly
- Manage federal grant applications for public safety infrastructure projects
- Conduct community vulnerability assessments using GIS mapping technology
- Train municipal staff on emergency communication systems and protocols
- Prepare annual public safety reports for City Council review
- Lead interdepartmental task forces for crisis scenario planning
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Emergency Management, or related field
- Minimum 3 years experience in government/public safety coordination
- FEMA Professional Development Series (PDS) certification required
- Advanced proficiency in emergency management software (e.g., WebEOC)
- Valid Ohio driver's license with clean record
- Experience with federal grant compliance (FEMA, DHS)
- Strong analytical skills with data-driven decision making
- Ability to obtain Top Secret clearance within 90 days
