Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough inspections of public infrastructure projects (roads, bridges, utilities)
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and municipal regulations
- Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain accurate documentation
- Collaborate with engineering teams to resolve compliance issues
- Train junior inspectors on inspection protocols and safety procedures
- Respond to emergency infrastructure incidents within 2-hour notice
- Represent the city in public meetings regarding infrastructure projects
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 3 years of infrastructure inspection experience
- Valid Indiana Inspector Certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days)
- Proficiency with CAD software and inspection reporting tools
- Strong knowledge of OSHA safety standards and ADA compliance
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in outdoor environments and lift up to 50 lbs
