Responsibilities
- Administrative Support: Manage daily office operations, including filing, data entry, and scheduling meetings for government officials.
- Policy Analysis: Assist in researching and drafting reports on current legislation and public policy issues affecting the Milwaukee area.
- Public Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact for citizens, addressing inquiries regarding permits, licenses, and government services with professionalism and courtesy.
- Compliance: Ensure all departmental activities adhere to federal, state, and local regulations and compliance standards.
- Document Management: Organize and maintain secure digital and physical records in accordance with government data privacy laws.
- Event Coordination: Help coordinate community outreach events and town hall meetings to foster transparency and engagement.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Political Science, Business, or a related field preferred; High school diploma with significant relevant experience will be considered.
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in an office or administrative setting.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with government software systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) is a plus.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex regulations to the general public.
- Integrity: Strong ethical standards and the ability to maintain confidentiality in sensitive government matters.
- Availability: Ability to pass a background check and drug screening as required by federal and state employment laws.
