Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on city streets, sidewalks, and public infrastructure
- Operate heavy machinery including snow plows, street sweepers, and utility vehicles
- Respond to emergency public works situations (e.g., storm damage, utility failures)
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety protocols and municipal regulations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on infrastructure improvement projects
- Document work activities and maintain equipment maintenance records
- Assist with special events and community initiatives as needed
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years of experience in public works, construction, or related field
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with airbrakes endorsement
- Ability to operate heavy equipment and hand/power tools safely
- Physical ability to perform manual labor in various weather conditions
- Strong commitment to public service and community safety
