Responsibilities
- Perform daily maintenance of public parks, streets, and recreational facilities
- Operate municipal equipment (e.g., trucks, mowers, hand tools) safely and efficiently
- Respond to emergency weather events (hurricanes, floods) for infrastructure recovery
- Conduct routine inspections of public assets and report maintenance needs
- Collaborate with cross-departmental teams for community events and projects
- Adhere to all federal, state, and municipal safety regulations
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required
- Valid Florida Driver's License with clean driving record
- Minimum 1 year experience in construction, landscaping, or public works
- OSHA 10-Hour certification preferred (training provided if needed)
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks in all weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of hand/power tool operation and maintenance
- Strong communication skills and ability to follow detailed instructions
- Pass background check and drug screening
