Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor tasks including excavation, grading, and concrete work for public infrastructure projects
- Operate heavy machinery such as loaders, excavators, and dump trucks under supervision
- Maintain public roads, sidewalks, and drainage systems through routine inspections and repairs
- Assist in stormwater management and flood control initiatives
- Follow strict safety protocols and maintain clean job sites
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on large-scale municipal projects
- Document work progress and material usage accurately
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid New Mexico driver's license with clean record
- Minimum 1 year experience in construction or public works preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks in all weather conditions
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification (or willingness to obtain within 30 days)
- Basic knowledge of hand/power tools and equipment operation
- Pass pre-employment physical and background check
- Ability to work flexible shifts including weekends during emergencies
