Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on city infrastructure including roads, sidewalks, and drainage systems
- Operate heavy machinery (excavators, loaders, graders) with precision and safety compliance
- Execute stormwater management projects and erosion control measures
- Assist in emergency response for weather-related public works incidents
- Collaborate with engineering teams to implement infrastructure improvement plans
- Conduct site inspections and document project progress accurately
- Adhere to OSHA standards and municipal safety protocols at all times
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of construction/public works experience or equivalent vocational training
- Valid Pennsylvania Driver's License (Class B or higher preferred)
- OSHA 10-hour Construction certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks in all weather conditions
- Proficiency with hand/power tools and basic survey equipment
- High school diploma or GED required; technical certifications a plus
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Pass pre-employment background check and drug screening
