Responsibilities
- Oversee the maintenance, configuration, and troubleshooting of complex state agency networks and server infrastructure.
- Implement and monitor robust cybersecurity protocols to protect sensitive citizen data and federal systems from breaches.
- Collaborate with inter-departmental teams to design scalable IT solutions that improve government service delivery.
- Conduct regular system audits and risk assessments to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior staff members within the division.
- Manage vendor relationships and oversee third-party IT contractors for large-scale implementation projects.
- Respond to and resolve critical system outages with minimal downtime, ensuring business continuity.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent technical experience).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT infrastructure, networking, or cybersecurity within the public sector or federal environment.
- Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or AWS Certified Solutions Architect are highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Linux, SQL databases, and cloud computing platforms (AWS/Azure).
- Proven ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance (e.g., Secret or Top Secret).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for technical reporting.
