Responsibilities
- Deliver Mail: Sort and deliver mail and packages to customers along an assigned route in a timely and efficient manner.
- Customer Interaction: Provide exceptional customer service by answering questions and resolving delivery issues professionally.
- Physical Demands: Lift packages weighing up to 70 lbs and walk/drive a delivery vehicle over various terrains throughout the city.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate logs of deliveries, receipts, and reports as required by USPS standards.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols, traffic laws, and postal regulations while operating a vehicle.
- Mail Preparation: Prepare mail for the next day's delivery and maintain the cleanliness of the vehicle and equipment.
Qualifications
- Eligibility: Must be a U.S. citizen or have legal alien status.
- License: A valid driver's license is required.
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent is preferred.
- Physical Ability: Candidates must be able to pass a physical examination demonstrating the ability to perform the essential functions of the job.
- Background: Must pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
- Residency: Must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of the Richmond Processing and Distribution Center.
