Responsibilities
- Deliver Mail & Packages: Safely and accurately sort and deliver mail and parcels to residential and business customers along an assigned route.
- Customer Interaction: Provide excellent customer service by answering questions and resolving concerns professionally and courteously.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance of the vehicle (car or truck) used for delivery duties.
- Workplace Safety: Adhere to all safety regulations, including OSHA standards, and maintain a clean and hazard-free work environment.
- Time Management: Efficiently manage time to ensure all mail is delivered according to the prescribed route and schedule.
- Mail Handling: Properly handle incoming and outgoing mail, including registering and certified mail, while maintaining security protocols.
Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship: Must be a U.S. citizen or a non-citizen national.
- Driver's License: Must possess a valid driver's license (commercial not required for City Carrier).
- Physical Ability: Must be able to lift packages weighing up to 70 lbs repeatedly and perform extensive walking, standing, and bending throughout the workday.
- No Felonies: Must not have been convicted of a felony within the last 7 years (specific exceptions may apply).
- Age Requirement: Must be at least 18 years old.
- Background Check: Will be subject to a background investigation and drug screening.
