Responsibilities
- Deliver Mail & Packages: Transport and distribute mail and parcels to homes and businesses along an assigned route in a safe and timely manner.
- Sort & Process: Efficiently sort and organize mail before beginning your delivery route to ensure accuracy.
- Customer Service: Interact professionally with customers, obtaining signatures for certified mail and handling hold requests.
- Maintain Safety: Operate USPS vehicles safely, adhere to all traffic laws, and ensure the security of mail during transit.
- Physical Duties: Lift, carry, and maneuver packages weighing up to 70 lbs as required, often in varying weather conditions.
- Route Management: Follow established delivery routes and maps to ensure complete coverage of your designated area.
Qualifications
- Age & Citizenship: Must be at least 18 years old and a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
- Driver's License: Must possess a valid state driver's license with a safe driving record.
- Physical Fitness: Ability to lift 70 lbs repeatedly and perform physical labor throughout the day.
- Dexterity: Good manual dexterity and the ability to operate mail sorting equipment and digital devices.
- Communication: Strong ability to read maps and follow written and oral instructions.
- Background Check: Must pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
