Responsibilities
- Sort and Process Mail: Efficiently sort and organize mail and packages according to address and route information before delivery.
- Deliver Mail: Transport mail to and from the Post Office to homes and businesses along an assigned route, ensuring timely delivery.
- Customer Service: Interact professionally with customers, answer questions, and resolve service issues with courtesy and efficiency.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Perform routine safety checks and basic maintenance on the delivery vehicle (PDA and van).
- Physical Handling: Lift and carry heavy packages, bend, reach, and walk long distances daily in various weather conditions.
- Adhere to Standards: Follow strict safety protocols and postal regulations to ensure secure and accurate delivery.
Qualifications
- Valid Driver's License: A current, valid state driver's license is required.
- U.S. Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen or a non-citizen eligible for permanent residence.
- Background Check: Must successfully pass a background investigation and drug screening.
- Physical Fitness: Must be able to lift packages weighing up to 70 lbs and perform physical labor for extended periods.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent (GED) is preferred.
- Residency: Must be able to work in Colorado Springs and surrounding areas.
