Responsibilities
- Sort and Process Mail: Sort incoming mail and prepare outgoing mail efficiently using various postal equipment and automated systems.
- Deliver and Collect: Deliver mail and packages to residential and business customers along an assigned route in a safe and timely manner.
- Customer Service: Interact professionally with customers to answer questions, resolve complaints, and provide a positive experience.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Perform routine safety checks on your vehicle and report any mechanical issues immediately to maintain fleet safety standards.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all USPS safety regulations, traffic laws, and OSHA guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and the public.
- Package Handling: Handle packages of varying sizes and weights, including lifting and carrying heavy items when necessary.
Qualifications
- Age Requirement: Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident status is required.
- Driver's License: Valid state driver's license is mandatory; a commercial driver's license (CDL) is preferred for some routes.
- Physical Ability: Ability to lift packages weighing up to 70 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods in all weather conditions.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent is preferred.
- Background Check: Must pass a background check, including a drug screening, and a criminal history check.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to read and interpret maps and delivery instructions.
