Responsibilities
- Sort and Process Mail: Efficiently sort, bundle, and prepare mail and packages for delivery according to established procedures.
- Deliver Mail: Safely and accurately deliver mail and packages to residential and business customers along an assigned route.
- Customer Service: Interact professionally with customers, answer inquiries, and handle mail errors or exceptions with a positive attitude.
- Vehicle Operation: Operate delivery vehicles (vans, jeeps) in a safe and responsible manner, adhering to all traffic laws.
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform daily inspections of delivery vehicles and equipment to ensure they are in proper working order.
- Physical Stamina: Lift, carry, and maneuver packages weighing up to 70 lbs over varied terrain and in all weather conditions.
Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship: Must be a U.S. citizen or have permanent resident status.
- Valid Driver's License: A valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record is required.
- Education: A high school diploma or GED equivalent is preferred.
- Physical Ability: Must be able to pass a physical examination and pass the Postal Exam (460).
- No Criminal Record: Must pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
