As a Postal Worker, you will play a crucial role in keeping the mail moving across the nation. We provide on-the-job training, so no prior experience is necessary.
Responsibilities
- Sort and Process Mail: Efficiently sort incoming and outgoing mail by size, shape, and address using automated machinery and manual sorting techniques.
- Deliver Mail: Transport and deliver mail to residential and business addresses along assigned routes in a timely and accurate manner.
- Customer Service: Interact professionally with customers, answer questions regarding mail delivery, and handle undeliverable mail according to protocol.
- Vehicle Operation: Safely operate a USPS vehicle or walk the route to ensure all mail is distributed.
- Package Handling: Accurately handle and process packages of various sizes, ensuring they are delivered safely.
- Route Maintenance: Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the postal vehicle and work area.
- Compliance: Adhere to all postal safety regulations and operational procedures at all times.
Qualifications
- Age Requirement: Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Residency: U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency status is required.
- Background Check: Must pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift packages weighing up to 70 pounds repeatedly throughout the shift.
- Driving Record: Valid driver's license (if operating a vehicle) with a clean driving record.
- Communication: Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to read and write clearly.
- Availability: Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as required.
